If the changes in energy consumption are not because of the weather, how do I identify the reasons?
1. If the changes in energy consumption are not due to the weather, consider other factors that increase energy demand.
2. On the graph, select Hour, and enter the desired day and hour of the week to examine. Then, analyze the maximum, average and minimum lines.
3. Example: The graph shows energy consumption on Tuesdays at 10PM – the time of the weekly floor meeting. On 10/4, people are busy with assignments and deadlines, so only 20 out of 30 floormates show up. The energy consumption is 3 kWh. On 29/5, everyone is done with exams, so everyone shows up. Energy consumption rises to 4 kWh. This shows that the increase in consumption is due to an increase in student’s demand.
Tip: Still can’t figure out why energy consumption has changed? Consider discussing with peers or Blue Sky.
